Down Time is Good

I returned from our weekend lake trip. Had a great time. The weather was perfect – could not have been any better for boating; skiing; and fishing. I bought a fishing license for the first time in my life and went for a late night fishing excursion. Didn’t catch a thing; not even a nibble. Two others in the boat were able to catch tree stumps but those don’t fry up well – no matter how much batter you coat on.

We had a great time just hanging out and experiencing community. I was able to see some friends that I had not seen in a long while – almost two years. That was a great treat. All in all – a five star weekend. Props to Kailey for my first jet ski experience. Thanks fer takin her slow! Love ya. This weekend was a beautiful reminder of the importance of leisure time and community. Truman Lake is a beautiful place and much less crowded than Lake Ozarks.

Not too busy week ahead in regards to travel. I’m actually in town for awhile. Yeah!

Leave you with this. Listening to some classic Rich Mullins and want to share the lyrics from one of my favorites – Hold Me Jesus.

Sometimes my life just don’t make sense at all
When the mountains look so big
And my faith just seems so small

So hold me Jesus, I’m shaking like a leaf
You have been King of my glory
Won’t You be my Prince of Peace

And I wake up in the night and feel the dark
It’s so hot inside my soul
There must be blisters on my heart

So hold me Jesus, I’m shaking like a leaf
You have been King of my glory
Won’t You be my Prince of Peace

Surrender don’t come natural to me
I’d rather fight You for something I don’t really want
Than to take what You give that I need
And I’ve beat my head against so many walls
I’m falling down, I’m falling on my knees

And this Salvation Army band is playing this hymn
And Your grace rings out so deep
It makes my resistance seem so thin

Oh, hold me Jesus, I’m shaking like a leaf
You have been King of my glory
Won’t You be my Prince of Peace

Oh, hold me Jesus, I’m shaking like a leaf
You have been King of my glory
Won’t You be my Prince of Peace

You’ve been King of my glory
Won’t You be my Prince of Peace

Thank you for being my Prince of Peace, Lord. Surrender don’t come natural for me but I’m trying through your grace.
