I will do better, I will do better

Merry_xmasI know, I know – Said I would do better before and failed miserably.  But I’m going to work hard on getting back to my blog on a more frequent basis.   I got a new program that allowed me to create the new banner and the graphic to the left. That is pretty fun and hopefully can snaze up my page a little.

Things are incredibly busy right now with the holiday season.  Advent is very busy in the life of the church and even though I don’t have a tremendous amount of youth activities, the church is a hub-bub during this season.  But as always, the busy-ness threatens to rob me of the true joy and depth of this season. It is so easy to be consumed with the commercialism and the pace of "Christmas" and forget to slow down and be expectant for the birth of the Christ child.  I must take the initiative myself to focus.  If you, too, are looking for some help in focusing in on the reason for the season, spend a moment each day at this website Folllowing the Star. I think you will be blessed.

I have been blessed recently by friendships.  I had a chance to catch up last night with a good friend of mine who was coming through town. God has also provided me a wonderful friend in ministry in a neighboring church.  That has been a great blessing this year.  And not least – God has blessed me with a wonderful group of friends here that I have "common ground" with.  For a girl who use to not truly appreciate the value of friendships, I have been truly blessed this past year to make so many new friends.

Tonight is our last Wednesday night youth program for three weeks.  Next week will be  a slow week work-wise and I’m looking forward to spending time with family.  Then I’m heading out to Keystone for a week of skiing with friends.  YEAH for skiing; BOO for not being in shape to enjoy it!!! 🙂

I’ll write more later and I WILL post some new pics very, very soon.

ADRIAN AND BETH – I love you ladies and thanks for my occasional kick-in-the-pants! 🙂

Peace – Melissa
